Target Cake

I was asked by a co-worker to make this cake for her dad's 50th birthday. He is into archery, so we designed the cake around that theme. It was made of chocolate cake and buttercream icing. The arrows were created with fondant around candy sticks. I was told that everyone enjoyed the cake and left with black lips. I warned you!

Superman's Cake

Dave is a big fan of Superman, so he decided for his groom's cake he wanted a building that his Superman could land on. This is what we came up with. It was made of vanilla cake that was dyed red, blue and yellow (Superman's colors) and topped with buttercream icing.

Valentine Cupcakes

These yummy cupcakes were done for my son's class for Valentine's Day. Yes, I know it is September, but as I included in the "About Me" section of this blog, I am a horrible blogger.

So anyway, these delicious mini-cupcakes were made of vanilla cake and buttercream icing. I topped them off with fondant hearts. This was my first attempt with anything fondant. I was just experimenting, but the kids loved them!

SchmoJo's Cake

This cake was made for a bridal
shower for my sweet friend
Joann. Her colors were orange
and fuscia. At first I thought,
"Wow, really?" Then I realized
how much fun I could have with this.
The colorful design really
popped against the brown
background. Instead of words,
I just added the bride and groom's
monogram to the cake design.
